FHD Blog Is Open for Business

Welcome to the new blog for Family History Day (FHD) 2011.  Hard to believe it's been a tad over four months since the doors were closed on a successful FHD2010.  Take a look back here

And now.......planning is underway for the 13th annual Family History Day at the California State Archives.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, October 15, 2011.  Next, take a look at the right sidebar of the screen for the blog update options under Subscribe to Updates and the information under Event Particulars.

This day is for you if you want to learn how to find out who's in your family tree.  Maybe you've watched those family history research programs on television.  In one-hour, the programs show viewers the fascinating types of documents and records about our ancestors that can be found and where but not the how of finding them and documenting and preserving the research.

Enter FHD2011 -- your opportunity to learn:
  • How to begin your search or refine your skills
  • What resources are available and how to use them
  • Why preservation of documents is important
  • Where California state government records are kept
  • Why it's important to work with others doing family history research.
Admission is FREE and open to the public.

Please share this event information with your family and friends.
